Out of the collaborative European database www.europotato.org participants extracted a list of 5000 names of potatos cultivated in Europe together with their pedigree relationships in Europe. By using the free software tool R, they created new images that allow to read the databse in a more 'social' way. Every potato is linked to its mother, often having two mothers or are being faced to the absence of a mother in the database. The goal of this experiment was to discover the name of The Ultimate Potato Mother, but apparently her name remains unknown.
